TEAM ALB-GOLD MOUNTAINBIKE: Hannes Genze is German Marathon Champion!

Hannes Genze became in Obrammergau on 24 September 2006 German Champion on the marathon distance. After 100 kilometres startup, only a few metres sufficed him at the finish sprint against Stefan Sahm from Mössingen in order to secure already his second national champion title. Thomas Nicke (Görlitz) achieved surprisingly the third place. For the women, Gabi Stanger from Dettingen could demonstrate once again her qualities on the long distance. She only had to abandon the field to the German Cross Country front-runners. Nina Göhl won before Sabine Spitz and Adelheid Morath.

Raring to go to the first successful mountainbike season:
The Gonso-Rawoflex-Team

Yellow-Black Support of the Offspring

Optically completely in the brand logos of both partners, the newly formed Gonso-Rawoflex-Team is presented, which was introduced on 11 April 2006 to the public on the occasion of a press conference.

The semi-professional mountain bike offspring was recruited from the RSG Zollernalb. Dietmar Baumelt, Fabian Eppler, Thomas Fritsch, Lukas Haasis, Nico Köpkeaund Daniel Riekert will start for the first time at the division race in Münsingen on 22 and 23 April. The seasonal height for the U23 bikers of this team is doubtless the German Cross-Country-Championship during the Gonso-Albstadt-MTB-Classics in June. In the black-yellow team jersey from Gonso, the ambitious and greedy offspring bikers strive now for the one or other placing on the podium.

Together with Rawotec, developing under the brand Rawoflex an innovative, practical and high-quality wall-floor-supporting system for bikes and sports equipment, so many passion for biking makes us already today proud of this young and success-oriented team.

Every kilometre counts

The fund-raiser "10for1" initiates now really after the return of the Team Joachim Franz. We would be more than happy if every toughly worked kilometre by the team could be sold completely! If you do not own any kilometre until now than it’s high time, since each kilometre of this expedition was unique and important for the fight against aids!
At the below mentioned internet site you find information about the PAN AMERICANA and about the opportunity for donation.

Equipped optimally by Gonso with clothing for the different climatical conditions of this tour, Joachim Franz and his team started the “4th sign – aids awareness expedition” in Deadhorse, Alaska on 12 August 2005 in order to cross by bike the American double continent in its total length from Alaska to North-, Middle and South-America and to Tierra del Fuego in 35 days.

pan americana - aids awareness expedition 2005

On 19 September the Team Joachim Franz reached after unbelievable 23.000 kilometres the most southern point of the Panamericana at Ushuaia on Tierra del Fuego at 10.12 o’clock. After 23.000 kilometres throughout the American double continent the six cyclists and their escort of 19 had reached, 39 days after the departure in Deadhorse, Alaska, the destination of the “pan americana aids awareness expedition 2005”.

On their way through 13 states, the crew around the extreme athlete Joachim Franz from Wolfsburg had crossed all climes, had traversed the forest fires of Alaska, the tropical heat of Middle America and the dusty deserts of South America up to the cold Patagonia.

Joachim Franz, Holger Schuchard, Daniel Wienbreier, Oliver Illgner, Regina Marunde and Silke Seecamp alternated during the nonstop-marathon in a two-hours-rhythm, so that a bike was on the road day and night. 16 press conferences were done and the echo of the national media turned out as overwhelmingly as the enthusiastic reception of the people at the visited places and the spontaneous reactions of the audience along the road.

With the achieved attentiveness, Joachim Franz, employee at the Volkswagen health care, has once again made an important contribution to the international fight against aids. Furthermore, after the finish of the expedition, selected projects of en-route visited aids institutions are supported financially and materially. The means for that result from the fund-raiser “10 for 1“, in which scope one kilometre of the covered distance on the Panamericana can be acquired for 10 EUR.
